Call of Duty Infinite Warfare: PS4/Xbox One Resolution Being Optimized, Will Push Both Consoles

"We'll definitely be supporting a fluid 60fps."

One of the big sticking points for this generation of the ‘console wars’ has been the output display resolutions of the PS4 and the Xbox One- with whether or not a game is hitting 1080p of display resolution on both consoles becoming a matter of much debate, and indeed, news these days.

That question will hopefully not arise when Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches later this year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, however. In an interview with GamingBolt, Infinity Ward’s Brian Horton confirmed that the company is trying to optimize the game for both consoles right now, working around any limitations that exist for both- though they can’t commit to anything just yet.

“We’re not announcing any resolution at this time,” Horton said. “We’re still in optimization mode, but we’re definitely supporting a fluid 60 frames per second experience.

“At this point the focus for us is to get the best experience we can out of every system that we work on. And then within whatever the strengths or limitations of those systems that’s where we really focus to try and get the most out of each box that we work on.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this November.
