Platinum Games’ latest project is handling development for Cygames in the latter’s newly announced Granblue Fantasy: Project Re:Link, a follow up to the 2014 role-playing game for mobile devices.
Granblue Fantasy launched in Japan only; there’s no word about localization plans for Project Re:Link.
Two years ago, Granblue Fantasy was positively received, particularly by JRPG fans, for incorporating the classic elements of that genre and reuniting designer Hideo Minaba with the famed composer Nobuo Uematsu, who worked together on Final Fantasy 6 and Final Fantasy 9.
Minaba and Uematsa are also working on Project Re:Link; Cygames’ Tetsuya Fukuhara is director and Koichi Haruta is producer.
