Activision is putting a postive spin on the game for investors, reporting that it now has almost 30 million registered users, although how many of those are active, the company isn’t saying.
Destiny has had its ups and down since its launch, and developer Bungie even sent out a questionnaire in February asking if fans were having fun.
Activision is planning an another expansion for the game later this year, and a sequel is already in the works for 2017.
“We think engagement has remained remarkably strong, even after the release of some competitive games in this genre,” said Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg in an investor conference call yesterday.
