The list of prominent studios known for their excellent single-player games that end up chasing live service trends to inevitable failure grows longer every year, and though each new addition to that list hurts, one of the most unfortunate additions was Rocksteady Studios, the Batman: Arkham studio that released lambasted live service looter shooter Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League earlier this year.
Recently, WB announced that the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had resulted in a whopping $200 million loss for the company.
Unsurprisingly, however, it doesn’t look like Rocksteady intends to stick with the multiplayer program too much longer.
After the critical and commercial failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier is now reporting that the studio is set to revert to single-player development.
