Hennig will be presented with the award at a BAFTA event in Los Angeles June 12th, the Sunday prior to E3 2016.
Back in 2010 the British Academy of Film and Television Arts gave numerous awards to Uncharted 2, and now it intends to follow through by honoring onetime Uncharted creative director and writer Amy Hennig with its Special Award in Los Angeles next month.
When that happens Hennig will join the canon of BAFTA Special Award winners, which include everyone from Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson to documentary filmmaker Paul Watson and comedians The Chuckle Brothers.
“Her work in the games industry spans nearly three decades, and throughout this illustrious career she has championed the importance of a game’s script, with this creative vision pervading all her work.”
