Activision states that the fall in monthly active users in its second quarter reflects “lower engagement for the Call of Duty franchise.”
The company expects engagement, and by extension, its monthly active userbase to rise in the fourth quarter, when the new Call of Duty is set to be released alongside Call of Duty Warzone 2.0.
Compared to this, the company boasted monthly active user numbers of 100 million in its first quarter of the year.
Activision has revealed that the monthly active users for its games has dropped down to 94 million at the end of the second quarter according to VideoGamesChronicle, which ended on June 30.
