Henderson took to Twitter earlier today to inform Call of Duty fans that Warzone 2 could still be coming to past-gen consoles, such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox one, but the decision is dependent on one thing.
The next-gen update fans have been waiting for is reportedly set to arrive next year, but past-gen players don’t need to worry as Call of Duty: Warzone 2 may still be releasing for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
A report by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier recently revealed that Activision was committed to releasing the next three Call of Duty titles on PlayStation consoles, following their recent acquisition by Microsoft. Schreier’s sources claim that Call of Duty 2022 and 2023 will be released on PlayStation consoles, as well as Call of Duty: Warzone 2 which is also rumoured for a 2023 release.
Alongside this, fans can likely expect the original Warzone to be rebranded as ‘Warzone Legacy‘ with the sequel taking over the name of Warzone.
