Yesterday, Disney announced in an earnings report that it has shut down its internal game development house, Avalanche Software, and will cancel the Disney Infinity line of games.
Back in March of this year, Disney announced that there would be no Disney Infinity 4.0 and instead, 3.0 would receive updates.
Though Disney has ceased all internal game development, that doesn’t mean we won’t see video games based on Disney properties.
While this might be somewhat shocking news, if we look back at some of the recent happenings with Disney Infinity, the cancellation doesn’t seem as surprising.
