Super Mario Galaxy was a cold hard classic from the day it debuted on the Nintendo Wii, and now some enterprising fans have managed to get the game running in a more portable setup.
Using a custom engine, the game is more of a remake than a port – which makes it even more impressive.
The classic platforming game, which launched back in 2007, is being made playable on the Nintendo DS thanks to the work of some eager fans that have been tinkering with the game and experimenting with cross-Nintendo compatibility.
Anyone familiar with the game will notice that there’s a couple of features missing, but for the most part, it’s the real deal – and immediately recognizable as Super Mario Galaxy. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen fans opt to make a scaled-down version of a classic.
