First official details about Magic: The Gathering MMORPG revealed

The rumors we reported on about a Magic: The Gathering MMORPG have been proven true, as Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios recently announced that they’re developing a “AAA” RPG based on the world-famous Wizards of the Coast card game.

Like Neverwinter and Star Trek Online, the Magic RPG will follow a free-to-play model, according to Cryptic Studios’ official site.

The video game will be taking after the card game by putting players into the role of Planeswalkers, transdimensional mages who can travel throughout Magic: The Gathering’s Multiverse.
