Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion creator wants the games’ rights back from Disney

The creative director behind Ron Gilbert has asked Disney if he can purchase the rights to the point-and-click adventure games, The Secret of Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion.

Dear @Disney, now that you’re not making games, please sell me my Monkey Island and Mansion Mansion IP.

The creative director said that “[m]oney isn’t the issue,” but that convincing Disney to sell the game’s rights may be difficult.
