Okami Sequel – Capcom Wants to “Deliver More Exciting News as Soon as Possible”

However, at The Game Awards 2024, Capcom announced that the beloved action-adventure title is indeed getting a follow-up, with the original game’s director Hideki Kamiya returning to lead development on the sequel with the newly formed studio, Clovers.

In addition to Okami and the newly announced Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom has said it also intends to revive other dormant properties.

Few would have predicted that there would be a proper sequel to Okami anytime soon, especially after rumors of its cancellation.
