Overwatch is Getting a Ranked/Competitive Mode Sometime in June; No Single-Player in Current Plans

He did confirm that we are getting more Overwatch Shorts, though, so they are continuing the story in that sense.

During a “Launch Day Q&A” on the Overwatch Facebook, Jeff Kaplan, the Game Director of Overwatch, confirmed that the game will be getting a big content update in June, which will include a Competitive Mode that will rank players against each other.

He said that a competitive mode is the main thing that the team is focusing on post-launch, and that he is hoping to get it out sometime in June.
