Pokemon Go’s Japan-only Pikachu Outbreak event garnered 2 million players in its 7 day duration, with over 120 million Pokemon caught.
Held in Yokohama, the event turned kilometers of real-life spaces into Pokemon Go Park, and finished with thousands of trainers competing at Pokemon Go Stadium, attempting to capture Mewtwo to a backdrop of fireworks and giant Pokemon projections.
Niantic provided details of the Yokohama event – which introduced new Shiny Pokemon and the long-awaited Mewtwo – after it closed.
