It is, in fact, the second biggest retail launch in the UK for the year, trailing behind Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
Though its physical launch sales are 76% higher than last year’s Resident Evil 3, they’re 25% less than Resident Evil 2, and 40% less than Resident Evil 7.
As the biggest new release of last week, it’s no surprise that Resident Evil Village has topped the weekly charts for physical video game sales in the UK, as per data provided by Gfk (via GamesIndustry).
It’s Xbox Series X/S retail launch is also the second biggest for the console, trailing behind Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and is the third highest selling Xbox Series X/S game at UK retail to date.
