Square Enix is “Preparing Various Projects” to Commemorate Final Fantasy 9’s 25th Anniversary

Leaks have repeatedly claimed that Square Enix is actively working on a remake of Final Fantasy 9, and it seems the company may be preparing to begin talking about the long-rumoured project in an official capacity.

Final Fantasy 9 is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year (July 7 being its original Japanese launch date), and Square Enix has launched a website to commemorate the same.

Earlier this year, prominent leaker NateTheHate claimed Final Fantasy 9 Remake was in active development, and could be targeting a 2026 release.
