The hit sound effect in Overwatch is based on the sound of opening a beer bottle

The “hit-pip” sound you hear on hit confirmation in Overwatch is apparently the sound of opening a beer bottle. That’s according to a Reddit post referencing the source book that comes with the game’s collector’s edition.

The sound you year when landing confirmed hits in Overwatch is actually that of a beer bottle opening.

“The sound is reversed and tweaked a little, but that sound is our hit-pip.”
