The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for Wii U and Nintendo Switch – the game’s first DLC Pack as part of the Expansion Pass will be available on June 30th, 2017.
Alongside the Korok Mask, Fujibayashi also explained that the Korok Seeds – which players can find 900 of in Breath of the Wild – originally started out as being rock-like objects that players were meant to discover throughout their adventure.
Specifically, Fujibayashi shared that the Korok Mask – which will be included in the first DLC Pack alongside other wearable masks for Link – bears a clear resemblance to the appearance of the Koroks in 2002’s The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (which first released on GameCube, and was re-released for the Wii U in 2013).
Even better was the fact that the stone that was originally going to be used happens to be an Easter egg for fans of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – it’s the pedestal that the Master Sword was contained in in that title.
