The post Tomb Raider film rights are up in the air after MGM lost out appeared first on Destructoid.
The film rights to Tomb Raider are up for grabs yet again after MGM failed to make a sequel after the 2018 film, which would have allowed them to keep the rights — although there were plans to make another film in the series at one point.
The most likely factor in plans for the sequel fizzling out is Amazon’s acquisition of MGM back in March of this year.
There’s a good chance that we’ll be getting another reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise from whoever picks up the rights, so here’s hoping that the third time’s a charm for the franchise.
