Get a tiny peek at what might have been Star Wars: Battlefront 2 showed us how a good space combat game set in the Star Wars universe could look on modern hardware, and now a pitch video from 2016 has surfaced that shows another company’s take on the genre.
It’s neat to get even a small look at a game that never had much of a chance of going into full production, and there’s certainly room out there for someone to tackle an officially licensed Star Wars space combat game.
“This was back in 2016, and we pitched a modernized take on X-Wing with all the classic bits”, [Double Damage’s Travis] Baldree tells Kotaku.
It was a short few weeks of assembly, and doesn’t approach the polish of a shipping title.”
