Schreier claims that while 343 Industries had no new single player content in the works for Halo Infinite, developers at the studio were working on pitches and prototypes using Unreal Engine for future Halo games.
That’s as per a report published by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who says 343 Industries is “all but starting from scratch” after Microsoft’s recent round of layoffs.
The studio has allegedly shifted its development pipeline to Unreal Engine, and currently remains focused on live service updates for Halo Infinite.
While 343 Industries continues to work on live service updates for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer component, Certain Affinity is also working on a battle royale mode, codenamed Tatanka– though the project may have expanded beyond its original scope.
