It’s the first anniversary of the PS5 and Jim Ryan, the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, made a post on the PlayStation Blog to thank everyone for their support.
When the PS5 first came out in November 2020, very few stores had enough to meet the high demand.
Part of this is due to the ongoing chip shortage, which caused Sony to reduce its production outlook.
However, the shortage of chips necessary to create PlayStation 5s means that they will remain a rare product going forward.
